中學英語老師演講稿:Dare to dream

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, nice to meet you on the last afternoon of weekdays. My topic today is “dare to dream”. Let me begin my speech with a short story.
About 100 years ago, a poor man made a living by herding sheep for others. One day , he worked hard on a hill with his two sons playing beside. A group of wild geese flew over the sky. The younger son said “Dad, where are they going?” “They are going somew

! Such a fabulous idea was from two poor and young boys. Nobody could imagine they would be the scientists one day. They must have suffered laugh from others at that time. But how could people know such an idea which sounded stupid and abnormal made a shocking and fascinating change? And how could people know that dream created airplanes as well as the genius? So ladies and gentlemen, today I don’t want to say how smart or hard-working these two guys were, I think the first step of their success is that “they dare to dream”. I admire their braveness and courage.
Every one has his dream. No matter big or small, great or ordinary, it is the beginning of one’s achievement. I still remember when I was a middle school student, my English teacher once asked me in the class “what are you going to be when you grow up?” I stood up and said confidently “I want to be an English teacher like you.” My teacher thumbed up and praised “good!” now I’ve been an English teacher for more than two years. Last year, I asked the same question to my students “what are you going to be when you grow up?” A boy stood up and said loudly “I’m going to be Albert Einstein! I want to talk with aliens.” He said seriously. As soon as he sat down, the class burst into laugh. After all, the answer was correct grammatically, but it was definitely impossible. I only said “thank you, sit down please.” After class, he came to my office and said “Lucy, I want to change my English name. Please call me Einstein.” “Are you kidding? ”I thought in my mind.
